The Car..........1999 Subaru Forester AWD in two tone green and gray with a tan cloth interior. This All-Wheel-Drive Wagon is in excellent condition and ready to tackle the toughest winter with EXCELLENT gas mileage. Features include all wheel drive, the durable 2.5 liter flat 4 engine that built Subaru's reputation, 5 speed transmission, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, delay wipers, am-fm cassette stereo, cargo mat, alloy wheels and much more. A sliding glass power sunroof has been added to this car since the photos were taken.

It's Condition..........The engine runs smoothly with no skips, noises, or vibrations. The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears, and all other mechanical systems function properly with one exception. This car will need a clutch soon, and the parts are included with the car ($386 value). The Carfax report is completely clean. The interior is beautiful. There are no worn, torn, or stained areas on the seats, carpets, or headliner. The cloth seats are soft and unblemished. All other interior panels look just about new. The paint and body are excellent. There are no dents, rusted areas, or noticeable scratches anywhere on the body. The paint appears all original, and has an outstanding shine. This car looks MUCH better than an average 1999 car. THIS CAR WAS CAREFULLY INSPECTED BY AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC IN BELMONT, MA ON 3-26-08. HE REPORTED THAT THE CAR NEEDS A CLUTCH, REAR WHEEL BEARINGS, AND HE WOULD REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES WHEN THE WHEEL BEARINGS ARE DONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES LEFT ON THEM. EVERYTHING ELSE CHECKED OUT FINE. While these repairs should be made fairly soon, the car is perfectly safe to drive home right now in its present condition.


Driving the Car..........Driving this car is a smooth and pleasant experience with a powerful engine, comfortable interior and rock solid all-wheel-drive. There are no shakes, rattles, or vibrations, and the ride is just as smooth and comfortable as you would expect. This is a really solid car that is a true pleasure to drive in bad weather. If you would like a big, sure footed, SUV, but don't want the expense and bad gas mileage, this could be the car for you!

What is it Worth..........Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) lists the retail value of this car with these miles and options as $8010. The Private Party value of this car in good (not excellent) condition is $5860. NADA and Edmunds list similar values. But the only value that really matters is what you are willing to pay here on ebay. So what do you think.......is $4000 an EXCELLENT price for this car? I think so too. The reserve is MUCH less than that!
